My Competition Horses
Whilst I derive great pleasure from schooling horses and training riders, my focus is on competition.  So let me introduce my main competition horses.

Mario.  16H, 7-year-old Dutch Warmblood/English TB cross owned by Sunset Hill Farms. He already has an extensive passport as he was bred in Spain, competed as a jumper in Scotland, then moved to the United States and started his eventing career with Jan Byyny early in 2008.  Mario earned several top 3 finishes at training level and has made a name for himself with his exuberant jumping style.  Hans Gerling competed him succesfully in 2008. Kate looks forward to seeing where this partnership leads.

Canyonleigh Sirecho ("Rocco")..  7 years old, American Saddlebred, born and raised in Australia.  Rocco is my main eventing horse in America.  Owned by Margaret Warwick who bought him as a baby, his future was always going to be in eventing.  Broken in and started by Jeremy Janic, he had a great begining. I was lucky enough that Marg entrusted me with his eventing career. He's currently 1 Star (Prelim) with a busy Fall schedule with the American Eventing Championships, Plantation CIC and Morven Park CCI.  Rocco is quite a character always letting you know how he feels about anything that may be going on in his life.  Very grumpy at feed time (just ask my shirts and the poor person, Joe, helping me to rug him one day!), he redeems himself by being the best cross country horse I've ever ridden. Look out for him, his palamino colour makes him hard to miss.

Whiskers.  10 years old, Australian T/B. My mum bought him off the track as a resale prospect.  As it worked up he turned into a bit of a champion winning the NSW eventing championships and several dressage championships.  So he stayed around!  He also proved to be quite good with the young riders who were fortunate to enough to ride him.  Let's just say he taught a few lessons and earned a few carrots!!!

Late Night.  8 years old, German Warmblood. Owned by Cathy and John Butler of Laytonsville, Tony is a super dressage horse. Great talent with potential for big things, I'm very lucky to have the ride on him.  He shows huge potential for Piaffe and Passage.  The biggest challenge for us is just miles in the show ring.  Up to date we have been very successful in every test we have competed in primarily winning but placing no less than third.  Cathy is his hero and everything he does is for her. Oh, and the treats he so deserves and is never deprived of!

Harmony Hills Harmony/Rhythm & Blues.  Both of these exceptionally talented young horses are owned by Robin Doser.  Robin is a very accomplished rider in her own right and has entrusted me with starting her horses.  Rhythm & Blues was a winner at his first dressage show (on a score of 73.5%!) and has a HUGE future ahead of him.  Robin has now taken over the ride and is very happy with his progress.  Harmony is an Oldenburg mare with great presence and very corredt paces. She's one of my favorite horses in the barn so I'm very excited about showing her as soon as possible.
